First, tomorrow is the deadline for getting your framed photographs over to the AOA Gallery. See my post from Monday for the application if you need one or head on over to the Arts of the Albemarle website.
Also, tomorrow night is the Photography Club Meeting night. The meeting starts at 7pm in the AOA Gallery on Main Street here in Elizabeth City. We'd love to see you there.
Finally, May 4th (Sunday) is the reception for the photographic exhibit at the AOA Gallery. The reception is being held from 4pm till 6pm and if you're in the Photography Club, bring food as we're hosting.
I just couldn't bring myself to consider sleep tonight until I shared a few images with you. The first ones are from a location that I pass a minimum of once a week and sometimes more and always find myself wishing I had my camera available. Well, today I did and I took at least 50 shots of some magnificent creatures in a beautiful setting. The hardest part was deciding which to show.

Then on the way home from that location, I met an aerial surprise that just beckoned me to stop the car and snap a few shots even at my own peril from pesticide contamination. I couldn't help myself, and from a photographic perspective, I was glad I stopped. Amazingly enough, these photos were taken with my Canon 40D and a 17-55mm f2.8 lens so as much as that last shot looks like I was using a telephoto, I was just in the right place at the right time (or not!).

We caught some wonderful beams of light today across the Albemarle, some from things natural, some from things man-made, but both a joy to the eye.
Have We Caught Yours?
